May 17: One Day Before T-day.

Today is the last day to buy an advanced ticket to be entered to win raffle items. Head on over to the ticket page and do yourself a solid.

Treasure Fest II starts tomorrow and we couldn't be more excited. We have 60+ bands and we are stoked about all of them. Make sure you stop in at check in (Snug Harbor) tomorrow and Saturday (only if you didn't check in on Friday). Check will start around noon but for the most part the peak check in times are 2-5pm on both days. If you miss check in, might wrap up around 6pm, then you are a terrible person. Just kidding, ask the door guy at Snug Harbor and he should be able to help you.

If you see someone with a lanyard then ask them questions. They are volunteers and know all the answers to the secrets of the universe. I kid you not. If you as a patron see something not right or something that needs tending to please tell someone. We want this to be a positive experience for anyone. I will say, consider yourself a deputized volunteer. This is a DIY festival funded in part buy local Plaza-Midwood businesses and with support from you. This festival hinges on the positive vibes from all of the patrons and local citizens. We are counting on you.

Weather is looking awesome right now. Buy yourself some new shoes and bring a bike. No littering, no fighting, no frowns and there will be no problems. At all costs, please avoid the 'noid. If you have any further questions then feel free to email us at treasurefestnc@gmail.com, I will be checking the email ever so often, if you are in a band you should have my number and I should have yours. Thanks for all the support couldn't do this without you.

May 15: It's Tuesday, are you ready?

Are you ready for Treasure Fest II? Both days look like they are going to have some awesome shows on them. People seem really excited about Snug Harbor on both days and all of the other venues are buzzing too. Make sure you check out the schedule now, figure out a game plan so you can hit it hard on game day (may 18th).

Do you need a place to stay during Treasure Fest II? There are locals opening up their homes to bands and patrons so just ask around. If that doesn't work then hit up Econo Lodge on Briar Creek. Their info is posted on the LODGING tab of this site. The rates are super cheap and they are a stone's throw away from all the action. Be safe while staying in motels. Don't leave valuables in your vehicle and be smart.

I don't want to jinx it (knock on wood) but weather looks like it will be nice on the 18th and the 19th. Make sure you come to check in (in front of Snug Harbor) and get your wristband. A lot of people have bought tickets, so if you want to be cool like them, and enter in to win an awesome raffle then buy your ticket now. Check in is from about noon to 5pm on both days. Depending on interest the times could be shorter or longer. Be there at 1pm at the latest if possible. Get it done early then go eat at the many awesome restaurants Plaza-Midwood has to offer. Life doesn't get any better than that. Good music and good food. Check out the EATS tab for all the good food.

Let's have fun and be respectful to the neighborhood. Charlotte, Plaza-Midwood, and Treasure Fest looks forward to having you. Friday is gonna be amazing.

May 13: It's Coming!!!

Treasure Fest is coming up on us quick. Hope you have a ticket. If you don't then go to the TICKET page and check out the raffle and the shirt. If you buy an advanced ticket then you can win soooo much free stuff. Weather should be good, buy some walking shoes and commence to partying.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay there is the Econo Lodge on Briar Creek near Bojangles Coliseum. Check out the LODGING tab for information. Originally we were told the room was $25. It was a little misleading. A single room is in fact that much but you have to add taxes. Taxes suck but they are a reality of life. Split between a lot of friends this should still be a sweet deal. The double room is also available, but is more money, obviously. TREASURE FEST is not responsible for anything that happens at these locations. The motel isn't in the best area, don't leave valuables in your car, should be fine though, its still Charlotte.

You should be stoked for next weekend. Take off work, save your lunch money and have lots of fun!!!

May 8: Treasure Fest II is 9 Days Away!!!

Treasure Fest II is coming up on us quick. If you don't have your tickets yet you have until 11:59pm on May 17th to do so. If you don't then you won't be entered into the raffle to win lots of prizes and FREE tickets to FEST 11 in Gainesville, FL. There are lots of reasons to go to Treasure Fest, if not just to support a local DIY festival. There are over 60 bands playing at like 8 venues. You have so many awesome shows to choose from. Don't complain about how nothing is happening in North Carolina or Charlotte for that matter. Go over to the tickets tab and buy a ticket (or two).

Saturday, April 28, 2012

April 26: Plaza Midwood Community Radio

Hey dudes, I did this radio show last week with Plaza Midwood Community Radio. It starts off right with me talking but you will pick up on the idea asap. It features some of the bands playing the Fest, not all, but it will give you a good place to start with some of the bands that you might not be too aware of.

April 26: Benefit Show is Tomorrow

The benefit show is tomorrow. If you live in Charlotte you should be there. If you live close to Charlotte then you should still be there. Local favorites, One Another, Moenda, Pullman Strike, along with newbies, Meat Group (Brain F, Logic Problem, Joint D) and AM/FMs are helping us raise some money to pay the 60+ bands on the Treasure Fest II weekend. We will also be selling tickets to Treasure Fest so bring cash or even a debit card and show your support.

Monday we will be releasing raffle information but for now we can tell you that the following labels are participating... No Idea, Tiny Engines, Sorry State, Self Aware, Fat Sandwich, and Lunchbox Records. The Fest will be offering up a ticket as well in the raffle.

If you want to post anything Treasure Fest related on twitter then please use the following hash tag: #tfclt Thanks for the support!!!

April 23- LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY!!!

Treasure Fest II is coming up on us quick. We may still need help with housing bands that are playing the fest and we may also need to borrow some PA equipment and microphones/stands. Not sure how much, but please contact us.

We also are working on solidifying raffle prizes. So far we have Lunchbox Records, Sorry State Records, Self Aware Records, Fat Sandwich Records, Tiny Engines Records, No Idea Records and maybe a few more. You know what that means? It means that if you buy a ticket you and possibly a couple friends (runner-ups) could win a whole lot of records. More than $100 worth. Pretty awesome, but wait, there is more!!! Fest 11, in Gainesville, FL has graciously donated a ticket to our raffle. Basically you can win an $85-125 FEST 11 ticket for ONLY $25. That is insane. The Fest is October 26-28 and there are over a hundred bands playing. Bands such as Braid, Lagwagon, Night Birds, Algernon Cadwallader (also on T-Fest), and the almighty 7 Seconds.

www.thefestfl.com

If you buy your ticket before midnight on May 17th, the day before Treasure Fest begins, then you can surely win some awesome stuff. If not then you are still supporting a DIY and local festival that brings so many regional, national and international acts to Charlotte, NC. It doesn't hurt that it is located in the best neighborhood in North Carolina, Plaza-Midwood. Come out and support stuff. Stay tuned for more raffle details!!!

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since we last chatted about TREASURE FEST. I hope you are doing well and getting into shape for all of the walking for the upcoming, second annual TREASURE FEST II. There will be the same awesomeness and an added dose of spectacular this May. Please clear your calender for May 18-19, because we are going to party!!! This may be our last year on this planet so we need to make it a special one. Once again the fest will be situated in the lovely Plaza-Midwood neighborhood and the shows will be held at Snug Harbor, Studio 1212, Common Market(Saturday), Lunchbox Records, Thirsty Beaver and a couple other venues that have not been confirmed at this moment. With more venues comes more responsiblility and with more venues comes MORE bands!!!

We can't announce the lineup just yet but expect some returning bands and a lot of new ones this go around. Just like last year we are focusing on up and coming DIY bands in the Carolinas, the souteast, the east coast (as a whole) and a couple international acts as well. Do your homework when the time comes and make sure you find your new favorite band for the weekend, you will not be let down!!! Here is a video from Day 1 of last year's fest from the amazing Rob Benjamin.
